Activities

Campus Phenology Blitz

A spin-off of a bio-blitz, a phenology observation blitz involves setting a certain amount of time to submit as many phenology observations as you can. Have students try to observe the broadest number of species possible, capturing as many different phenological stages as they can find.

This activity would be a great addition to a unit on climate change or plant reproduction, ecology, or evolution. It could also go hand in hand with an assessment of campus plant biodiversity.
